Linda Bertrand

Linda Bertrand

Linda grew up on a farm in southeastern Saskatchewan. She would often go for walks just to be outdoors and interact with nature. As a child she enjoyed drawing and colouring using bold and bright colours.

Linda completed her B Ed degree taking classes at The University of Regina and The University of Calgary. Her post-secondary studies included a number of instructional and in-service art classes. She taught school with the Calgary Board of Education for many years. Her students often excelled in art as they were given opportunity to explore and work in a wide range of art mediums.

It wasn’t until Linda retired from teaching that she decided to pursue the world of painting for herself. Living in Calgary and near the foothills has provided her with a wide range of subject matter to inspire compositions. She discovered her niche is in colour and texture. Most of her subject matter comes from nature.

Linda has studied under several artists and continues to refine her skills and techniques in acrylic painting and mixed media. She attends numerous workshops, critiques and demonstrations. Her commissioned work and paintings can be found in many private collections.
