Irene Colter

Irene Colter

The stunning beauty of nature that surrounds us is truly magnificent and mesmerizing in its many shapes, forms and colours, changing before us as the seasons change. By painting to capture nature in the time of season, I hope my artwork will inspire and bring enjoyment to viewers.

A native Calgarian, Irene Colterís art is inspired and intricately connected to the beauty of the Canadian National Parks and prairies for their majestic seasons, mountains, northern landscapes, lakes, forests, flowers and animals. This passion and her excellence in art have been recognized through her artistic works in watercolours to represent Canadian significance and natural heritage.

Irene studied sketching and painting at the University of Calgary and the Alberta College of Art. She has also taken courses and workshops with various local artists well known in Southern Alberta and Canada.

Ireneís paintings are primarily watercolours and the consistent quality of her work has resulted in collections by both private and corporate clients. At present, she continues to pursue and enjoy success working out of her home studio.
