Irene Colter

Irene attended the University of Calgary, Visual Design in Art Theory and Practice and the Alberta College of Art and Design. Born and raised in Calgary, she is inspired by the majestic beauty of nature and wildlife.

After graduating from the University of Calgary, Irene travelled extensively from coast to coast, visiting numerous Provincial and National Parks, heritage sites of Canada, the prairies and northern landscapes.

Surrounded by art and music, Irene has taken drawing and painting through the University of Calgary, Alberta College of Art and Design, and many studio workshops with local well-known artists. Irene is inspired by the beauty of nature, wildlife, florals, colours and the changing of seasons, to capture an extraordinary moment in time or an emotion. She paints Watercolour, Acrylic, and Mixed mediums.

Irene’s techniques include Impressionistic, Realism, Abstract and Photorealism. Her artwork is enjoyed by many, including private collectors.
