Since she was little, Nicole has always been attracted and fascinated by colours and their beautiful possibilities. In her native city, Québec, she took arts classes every time they were offered at school. She pursued her passion through college, studied art and obtained her Graphic Art Degree from Laval University. Soon afterwards, she moved to Calgary.

While raising her family she kept her passion for drawing alive by joining a small group of figure drawing artists. She enrolled in watercolour classes at Northmount Pleasant Centre, and participated in drawing classes at the zoo. She rediscovered and adopted acrylic as her medium of choice after taking classes with Jean Pederson at ACAD and joined Mary-Leigh Doyle’s art class in 2010. She also participated in workshops from Leading Edge and at the Cape Breton CSPWC Symposium.

Nicole’s subjects are diversified, they represent the natural world, animals and sometimes everyday objects or scenes painted in her own interpretative and whimsical semi-abstract way. Her work reflects happiness, joy and wonder through design and colours.

She regularly exhibits her work with the Calgary Community Painters Society and Parkdale Art Club, and has participated in many group shows at the Hillhurst and Sunnyside Community Association. She had a solo exhibition at Framed on Fifth in 2014, a duo show with Mary-Leigh Doyle at the Common Crown Brewery in 2017 and is currently displaying her bicycle themed work at the Giant Bicycles Café in Edmonton. For almost two years she had some of her work on display at The Fitness Table Calgary. She will be exhibiting in Edmonton at the Galerie CAVA in November 2017, in January-February of 2018 at the Calgary Jubilee Auditorium, and at Framed on Fifth in March.
