Raised in the English countryside, I have always been drawn to nature. I try to capture in a visual form the beauty that I see daily in the world around me, either in nature or people.

I love the fluidity and transparency of watercolor, my first medium but have recently discovered joy in oils and their unique character.

In both media I strive to capture a specific light or mood, such as the luminescence of sunlight passing through or over the petals of a flower. Or the dramatic patterns of light and shadow in our very own Rocky mountain landscape.

As often as I am able, I try to paint from life, though that is not always possible in Alberta.
