Sharron Bowen

“I enjoy painting and creating an image where once there was a blank piece of paper or canvas. My style is an evolving process allowing me to explore different painting mediums and subject matter. I work in watercolour, watercolour on Yupo paper, acrylics and alcohol inks. I love intense colour and often pick subject matter for painting that works for this style. Landscapes of all types and especially the mountains hold my interest along with painting of flowers and vegetation.”

Sharron has been a practicing pharmacist in the Calgary area for over 40 years and owned her own pharmacy, Calgary Place Pharmacy for 14 years. She is inspired by travelling, loves to play Bridge, create crafts, knit and crochet. Sharron is the Exhibition Chair for the Calgary Sketch Club and is actively involved in organizing their art shows. She is also on the organizing committee for the Retired Teachers Show.

Sharron has taken studio classes with Karin Richter and has been on painting trips with her to Tuscany and France. She has taken workshops on waterclour with Eleanor Lowden Pidgeon, Sharon Lynn Williams, Curtis Golomb, Sherry Telle and Robert Wood.
