“Art is communication whether it is communicating a feeling, an image or a thought.”
Sue grew up in a small prairie town on a farm in Alberta. The wind, grass and never ending skies influence the movement and color in her work. Sue’s love of gardening has had an impact on still-life, especially flowers and blossoms. She sees art through a window whether she is looking in or out.
Most of her work is done through her studio or on site and refined through critiquing by peers. She allows herself the luxury of studying works in progress over periods of time.
Medias of choice are acrylic and mixed media. Brush and palette knife are visible in the strokes used in some of her paintings. Style and use of materials continues to evolve, as Sue strongly believes that learning is a lifelong process. Sue’s intentions are to continue to keep an open mind as to her representation, reflection and interpretation, to keep it as personal and individual as herself.
